A pool at the edge of somewhere — the sky pressing down in violet and grey, the water holding the trees upside down with more clarity than the world above deserves. The architecture recedes. Only the water stays honest.

Pool 4 belongs to a series of pool paintings made between 2007 and 2011 — places observed from a distance that never quite closes. This work is held in a private collection in Germany.
